IMPROVED FACILITIES AT SPREYTON BOWLS AND CRICKET CLUB
The Spreyton Bowls and Cricket Club are undergoing a refurbishment following receipt of a grant from the Braddon Stronger Communities Program.
Federal Member for Braddon Justine Keay said, “The Spreyton Bowls and Cricket Club will receive $$5,000 in funding from the Braddon Stronger Communities Program to update their clubrooms
“The $10,000.00 project will be undertaken by club members largely through volunteer labour and the commitment of club funds.
“The clubrooms require and update from their original 1960’s décor and the work will include replacement of carpet, repair of damaged walls, updating amenities and replace sound and video equipment..
"The clubrooms are used by all ages from the Spreyton community as multi use venue for bowls and cricket.
“Both sports cater for a wide range of memberships from junior through to seniors.
“The Spreyton Bowls and Cricket Club is a great example of local sporting groups working together to offer sport and recreation opportunities to their local community.
“The clubrooms are also available for local community events.
Justine Keay said, “The Braddon Stronger Communities Program is administered by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
“Applications were assessed by an independent community panel who found this project was one that warranted support.”
