NEW KITCHEN FOR MERSEY VALLEY PONY CLUB
Members and visitors to the Mersey Valley Pony Club will benefit from a new kitchen and canteen following a grant from the Braddon Stronger Communities Program.
Federal Member for Braddon Justine Keay said, “The Mersey Valley Pony Club will receive $20,000.00 in funding from the Braddon Stronger Communities Program to build a new kitchen and canteen.
“The $40,000.00 project will be undertaken by club members largely through volunteer labour and the commitment of club funds.
“The new kitchen will ensure the club meets it health and safety obligations with work expected to be completed before the end of the pony club season in May 2019.
“The Mersey Valley Pony Club has been in existence since 1963 as a member of the North West Zone of Pony Club Tasmania.
“Since that time thousands of young riders have progressed through the club.
“The club currently has forty member families and caters for riders less than 17 years of age.
Justine Keay said, “The Braddon Stronger Communities Program is administered by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
“Applications were assessed by an independent community panel who found this project was one that warranted support.”
